b.u.s. - urban management and environmental planning (büro für umweltplanung und stadtentwicklung) was established in 1993 as a consulting firm with a special focus on issues relevant to urban development, local governance, environmental planning and housing. the activities of b.u.s. encompass urban development and city management, and span from advising national authorities in the formulation of urban development and housing policies, to the promotion of self-help initiatives at the local level. a focal area of our activities is the conceptualisation and implementation of complex urban development and urban regeneration projects in co-operation and co- ordination with a broad spectrum of stake-holders from the public sector and civil society. b.u.s. works for german, european and international development organisations, and also for local governments in germany and europe.
