babben media & entertainment really started as playstation compass, which was a project dedicated to "parent gamers and parents of gamers," bringing parents and their kids together through playstation. as my own kids grew up, they became interested in the nintendo switch, xbox, and pc gaming, and linking the project to one platform didn't make sense anymore. babben is a word my younger son created when he was not a baby anymore, but not quite a kid. some of you might call that a "toddler," but he didn't like this word. he decided on babben, and i loved the word ever since. babben media & entertainment seeks to enrich the relationships between parents and their children, using video games and other media as the vessel. the project started in 2016 as a loose concept, but saw refinement in 2020 when i chose it as the focus of my mba entrepreneurship capstone at toronto metropolitan univeristy (then ryerson).
