bable is the european marketplace for smart cities. we connect municipalities and companies to boost the development of smart cities. smart cities need intelligence and technology to increase sustainability and livability. they receive this from specialized companies and research institutes. but b2ci (business to cities) is not an easy task since procurement regulations and long time frames for planning & decision making often hinder transactions and focused business development. also innovation, complexity of solutions and a local context make it hard for companies, investors and cities to run smart city development projects in a “business as usual” mode. today, higher risk for investment, higher transaction costs and a fragmented market still make smart city business inefficient. the new smart city marketplace “bable” solves several of these challenges. it has been developed with smart city lighthouse cities from all over europe and together with companies from the fraunhofer innovat
