this book is a soft-launch trial to see if this could become a series in early childhood development. what is peds? the parents' evaluation of developmental status (peds) questionnaire was created by the melbourne royal children’s hospital and is based on ten general questions that parents complete prior, or at the appointment with their maternal and child health nurse from 4 months of age. it is thought that parents often notice if there is a problem with their child as they are with them for 24 hours a day. it’s a screening tool which helps to refer according to concerns they have. how i've applied peds to baby is one? working as a maternal and child health nurse over the last 10 years, i have assessed and observed many babies and children’s growth and development. we use the peds questionnaire that is in the child health record which parents receive after the birth of their baby. i used this tool to provide a story of what is expected of a one year old and then made it into
