op scholen in oeganda wordt op dit moment nauwelijks iets gedaan voor leerlingen met leerproblemen. met backup uganda willen we daar verandering in brengen. wij zorgen dat er begeleiding voor leerlingen is, maar ook training voor docenten en zelfs voorlichting voor ouders. wij gebruiken de term ‘leerproblemen’ (learning challenges) voor allerlei verschillende hobbels in het leerproces van een leerling. je kunt dan bijvoorbeeld denken aan dyslexie en dyscalculie. maar, we kijken ook naar wat bredere kenmerken. die heten officieel geen leerstoornissen, maar ze hebben wel veel invloed op hoe iemand leert. het gaat dan bijvoorbeeld om concentratieproblemen (ad(h)d), niet kunnen plannen, vormen van autisme, en nog veel meer.
