bāc-tā-gon is a curatorial platform that fosters the development and production of research-driven projects across eight disciplinary practices, namely visual art, design, architecture, performing art, music, literature, moving image and cuisine. questioning notions of “curating” in the contemporary age, bāc-tā-gon seeks to engage the public through innovative exhibition methods taking place in non-traditional cultural venues, so to stimulate cultural engagement in china. by gathering creative practitioners across the eight disciplines bāc-tā-gon serves as a platform for temporary, project-centric collectives. through collaborative investigations, bāc-tā-gon aims to further both the work within a single discipline and also to stimulate possibilities across multiple, “hybrid” disciplines – it is through collective practice, on both social and disciplinal levels, that bāc-tā-gon is able to explore alternative methodologies for establishing more fluid communication pathways between crea
