badfeather is a young company, founded by dan vorhis and don horton in 2020, dedicated to designing and producing high-quality working knives. dan lives with his wife bernie mahar on a small farm on whidbey island, wa, usa. their son levi mavorhis currently lives in arizona. dan is an experienced outdoorsman, farmer, and product designer. he loves the outdoors. he designed and helped design many successful outdoor products for seattle-based mountain safety research, inc. (msr), and has generated 13 patents in a variety of disciplines. don lives on the shore of puget sound in seattle, where he has turned his living room into a product development shop. he hikes, climbs and fishes. he is the son of an avid knife collector. the "badfeather" name has something to do with tenacity and endurance.
