Baitykool

baitykool won the third place at the first solar decathlon middle east held in dubai in 2018. it is an innovative 80m2 housing prototype built by a multidisciplinary team from france, palestine and the united arab emirates. its bioclimatic architecture respects the climate and local traditions. the skin of the building is a contemporary mashrabiya that incorporates solar panels to maximize the energy from sunrise to sunset. immutable rock in the middle of the desert which contrasts with the nomadic nature of its construction, it discovers an oasis of greenery guided by a change of materiality from mineral to vegetal when entering the habitat. protected from the sun by a movable pergola supporting fine solar panels, the core of the house has an aquaponic system that allows the occupants to produce food. the effect of the sun combined with a lumbrifilter ensures the recycling of wastewater. the house is naturally cooled at night using the north wind but also thanks to the installation of
