Ballyhoura Community Radio

ballyhoura community radio delivers a voluntary quality radio service, to inform, educate and entertain local people and reflect the ethos of our rural hinterland, promoting local news, irish language, culture, music and sports programmes. this is being achieved by encouraging all sections of our community to become involved in the making and presentation of programmes and in the running, managing and maintenance of the radio station. we also aim to give a voice to minority groups, to the youth, to the elderly and to the increasing number of people with diverse cultures living in our midst and thereby helping them to integrate more fully into the local community. ballyhoura community radio limited, an independent and not for profit company, was set up and an application for a licence to broadcast was lodged with the broadcasting commission of ireland to an eight kilometre radius of the town, an area which will include the communities of ardpatrick, ballyagran, ballyhea, bruree, castlet
