bangladesh computer council (bcc) is a statutory body under the information and communication technology division of ministry of posts, telecommunications and information technology, government of bangladesh (gob). bcc is vested with the responsibility to promote ict and its uses. it was established as national computer committee (ncc) in 1983 and then it went through a series of changes to end up as bcc as follows: 1. national computer committee 1983 2. national computer board 1988 3. bcc ordinance 1989 4. bcc act 1990 bangladesh computer council came into being vide bcc act 1990 and started functioning as a statutory corporate body under president’s secretariat. then in 1991 bangladesh computer council was placed under the then ministry of science and technology, then ministry of science and ict, then ministry of ict. at present the bcc is working under newly formed ministry of posts, telecommunications and information technology. bcc has undertaken the programme called “conducting
