banka slovenije is the central bank of republic of slovenia. it is a legal entity governed by public law, autonomous in disposal of its own assets and governed by its decision-making bodies independently of any decisions, positions or instructions of state agencies or any other bodies. since the introduction of the euro on 1 january 2007 banka slovenije fully abides by the provisions of the european system of central banks' (escb) and ecb statutes. banka slovenije carries out the following tasks: * implementation of the common monetary policy, * banking supervision and regulation of the banking sector, * provision of banknotes, * statistics, economic analysis and research of macro-economic developments and financial stability, * management of the official foreign reserves and other financial assets, * promotes smooth operation of payment systems and * other tasks and responsibilities pursuant to the bank of slovenia act.
