barcud shared services is shared internal audit service based in south wales. it was created in 2012 by a group of four welsh large scale voluntary transfer (lsvt) housing organisations seeking a more tailored, cost effective and value adding internal audit service than they had previously received. the service is hosted by valleys to coast housing, based in bridgend, and is overseen by a consortium committee, made up of nominated individuals from each of the organisations. it is a unique approach to internal audit. barcud shared services has staff qualified in internal audit, information systems auditing and project management and employs the latest automated audit management systems, data analytics software and robust quality controls in line with international standards to ensure the service provided is consistent, high quality and meets each member organisation’s needs. we use a similar methodology as that employed by leading professional services firms; however this is combined wi
