bari fonderie meridionali s.p.a. (bfm) was founded under the name of breda fucine meridionali s.p.a in 1961 with the aim to foster the industrial development of the south of italy. from the beginning our production was focused on sand and mechanical moulding and forging, being specialized in components for military and nuclear purposes. bfm is now the largest foundry in the southern italy covering an area of over 130.000 square meters of which 44.000 are under roof. bfm is famous, in particular, as one of the most important european producers of cast manganese steel crossings for railway turnouts. nevertheless, recently it is considered also as a respectful supplier of special castings for other applications, mainly for oil and gas industry. since april 2012 bfm has become daughter company of dt – výhybkárna a strojírna, a.s., a well-known producer of railway and tramway turnout constructions from the czech republic. presence in this strong group will help us to develop further our tec
