established in 1969, bark frameworks pursues innovative design while following the highest standards of preservation framing practices. we specialize in framing impressionist, modern, and contemporary art; and in designing custom mirror frames. every bark frame is designed and built at the company’s 27,000 square foot long island city facility, which houses a showroom, design and preservation studios, a wood shop, metal shop, and gilding studio. bark frameworks began in jared bark’s soho loft. we started out by framing works by our contemporaries, with the simple goal of serving the art being presented. over time, our range grew to embrace the framing of western works from impressionism forward. we have designed and built numerous frames for textiles as well as asian works, especially scrolls and thangkas. the framing of photographs from the field’s earliest days to the present has become a specialty. our mirror frames add visual interest to any design scheme. for more information, or
