hi, i'm barry lavalley and i am pleased that you've stopped by barry lavalley learning. i've coached and educated financial advisers for close to 40 years. after graduating from the university of alberta in 1974, i entered the canadian financial services industry; in that time i've been an adviser, senior mutual funds executive, and educator. my formal education concentrated on psychology and focused on how we think, act, and make decisions. this has become the foundation of the work that i do today. i have developed programs over the years that focused on retirement and communicating effectively with aging clients. several decades ago, i felt that at some point in my work the two would intertwine when the predominant opportunity for advisors was to communicate effectively with clients about retirement. the achievements i'm most proud of are my tens of thousands of happy clients, firms, and advisers around the globe and my books which have been published in 6 countries. i look for
