bass was founded in 1970 as a retail mail order company specializing in marine lighting. in 1978, we entered the electrical panel business with a high-grade line of aluminum panels featuring a sleeker look, as well as advanced graphics and engineering. as we took a step back in the 1980’s, we realized we should focus on our strengths. we then phased out marine lighting and focused our efforts solely on electrical panels for power distribution on boats and specialty vehicles. this change of focus helped us put forth a series of innovations in panel category. but even with those innovations, there was room to grow. in 2001, bass products became a subsidiary of plainville electrical products, co.
