we are a non-profit organization bringing housing solutions and economic empowerment to the batey communities of the dominican republic; creating a sustainable future for families living within poverty. 1 in 3 people in the dominican republic live in extreme poverty. in the caribbean and latin america, 37% of all households - over 58 million families - need new or rehabilitated housing to meet basic minimum standards. brp has fully developed a modular home design that exceeds expectations for affordable housing in the most impoverished communities in the dr. this design responds to the needs of a family while employing locally sourced materials and natural elements of design. since 2013, brp has built over 32 homes in 5 batey communities located in the southern region of the dominican republic and has impacted the lives of over 520 individuals. the dominican republic is a source, transit and destination point for human trafficking. globally, human trafficking generates $50 billion usd
