what is a doula? as a professional doula, i offer information, reassurance and practical assistance during pregnancy, labour and birth, and in the early weeks of parenting. i am there to help you and your partner feel confident as i endeavour to support you both through this journey. during pregnancy, you will have many questions, and a i am there to give you the information you need to have those questions answered. i can also assist you in constructing a birth plan. during labour, i will use my practical knowledge on comfort measures such as massage and position suggestions. i am also an extra shoulder to lean on (for both mother and partner!) after the birth, as a doula i can assist in many ways. this includes debriefing over the birth experience, assistance with breastfeeding information, or even practical assistance such as helping with housework! in short, as a doula, i am there for you and your partner to help you achieve the experience you want to achieve. why do i need a doula
