Beat@merced

beat (biology, engineering, agriculture and technology) is a california public benefit corporation that aims to increase science literacy in the central valley. through the implementation of four different modules, covering four different fields (general science, computer programming, engineering, genetic engineering), beat places undergraduates, graduate students and faculty members from uc merced into elementary, middle and high schools around merced and mariposa county. these individuals, well-versed in their respective fields, facilitate teaching and learning in groups and classes with interactive lectures, insightful demonstrations, and expertly crafted projects. beat curriculums are in use by mcoe and school districts around the county, and have won local and regional awards for their captivating lectures, hands on demonstrations, and overall mission statement. now in its fourth month of formal operation, beat is currently relocating to a downtown office space in merced, managing
