Begs & Bags

begs & bags was launched in 2021, with 2 books and the fashion collection azoreanhood, which are connected. the books begs & friends, one for children (3-8 years old) and other for young people and educators (9-99 years old), tell the same story and aim to stimulate conversations about ocean conservation, in schools and within families. it tells about the sperm whale begs, who discovers the marine plastic pollution issue and collects plastic, with which she designs the azoreanhood. from the book’s fiction, the azoreanhood fashion collection becomes reality. it is handmade in the azores islands, by an atelier which is a solidarity economy project, with the seaqual® yarn, containing upcycled marine plastic.
