laurent belamich and paul barry are the founders of the new conceptual, art and design practice belbar studio. after many years working in business, laurent has decided to pursue his hidden talent professionally; furniture and product design. paul has enjoyed 30 years in the creative industries as an art director collaborating with visionary icons such as tom ford and christopher bailey. their work aims to shake off conventional restrictions in the creation of furniture, lighting and decorative pieces and exhibits many of the considerations found in their respective arrival to modernist and contemporary design. with a life-long passion for art and design that mixes their individual experiences in both worlds to create unique pieces, each including their own narrative, in founding belbar studio, they have been guided by instinct and imagination, propelled by a primary appreciation of craftsmanship and the idea of what it means to be modern.
