Ben Thompson Design

ben is a ux/ui designer, art director, and graphic designer with a broad range of skills and experience. he has led teams producing large-scale online initiatives, and created amazing work for demanding clients. he is expert at the stewardship of international brands, and a resource for both business development and project roles. he is a skilled and effective communicator, comfortable presenting to both large and small groups. ben leveraged his experience as a design group manager at microsoft (and his earlier experience in the aerospace and publishing industries) to found and manage two successful online design agencies, saltmine creative (later saltmine, inc.), and lux. ben and his partners were honored by ernst and young as entrepreneurs of the year, internet, in 1998. since 2009, ben has worked in the bay area as a business consultant and creative director for such clients as the burning man project/black rock city llc, prophet, tribe.net, hewlett packard, snapfish, and cisco.
