Bennett's Village

bennett's village is building a multi-generational, all-abilities play space here in charlottesville to change the way our community views inclusion. the mission: in loving memory of bennett, a joyful 5-year old who passed away in 2018 due to spinal muscular atropy, we are creating an innovative and inclusive play space at pen park in charlottesville. kids, parents, and people of all ages and abilities are able to gather, play, and laugh together at bennett's village - some for the first time in their lives. the innovative play space will cover 3 acres and will eventually include fully-accessible play structures and spaces, a tree house, sensory garden, cableway, water play area, restroom pavilion, and native landscaping. this is a massive undertaking that will take all of us. it took a village to care for bennett, and it will take a village to build this inclusive play space for the community. we hope you will join us!
