Bethany-Shannon Memorial Ice Hockey Festival

an annual memorial ice hockey festival in memory of bethany-shannon preston. the festival was founded by bethany's father, simon in 2015 and includes a 9-team recreational ice hockey tournament and a mixed ability memorial match with players ranging from recreational level to the elite ice hockey league. this is not just a great event for recreational ice hockey players to get involved, but also an opportunity for volunteers to develop skills such as coordination, leadership, management, fundraising, marketing....etc. simon is always on the lookout for the next event committee, each year and support is given throughout. the original intensions in 2015 were simply to raise money for charity, but the success, along with the outstanding support from the recreational ice hockey community, the festival weekend became bigger over the years and opportunities arose for people to get involved in the organisation of the event and work as a collective to raise as much money as possible for t
