beyondiq was created to meet the needs of international gifted and talented students in the netherlands. international children and youth that arrive in the netherlands are expected to adjust quickly to the new environment which often includes meeting new peers and learning a new language. this can lead to frustration and difficulties in comparison to their previous lives in their home country. nevertheless, international gifted and talented children have some additional challenges; from getting top grades in their home country without putting a lot of effort, they arrive in a new and unfamiliar school and usually become average students. high expectations from oneself, facing obstacles and receiving lower grades might lead to underachievement and boredom in the classroom. beyondiq aims to support and challenge international students through creative thinking and social-emotional support. the children will develop divergent and lateral thinking, problem-solving, flexibility and fluen
