blackdown hills is an independant free range egg producer and packer based at the highest point of the blackdown hills in somerset. the business is family owned by ken and deb cottey whose family have been farming this land for many generations. in 2004 ken took the business in the direction of free range egg production and we now have over 30,000 free range hens producing quality lion code eggs. we are freedom food and salsa accredited and soon to add brc to the list. in 2013 a state of the art egg packing and grading plant was constructed capable of grading 1 million eggs per week through our moba omnia grader. to complement our own free range egg production we have a group of independent producers that supply us with free range, barn and intensive egg to meet all customer demands. we supply all sectors, retail, food service, b2b, wholesale and end user. the products are available in either our own blackdown hills brand or customer private label.
