black owned business kansas city was founded august 1st, 2012 because founder, marsha willis felt that kansas city was lacking something when it came to business resources for african americans. there was a lack of community. with determination to change that, came the creation of bobkc. when the community was created the main focus is to ensure that we are keeping black dollars within black communities buy helping to foster new business opportunities and connecting customers with black owed businesses. this helps to close the wealth gap that is present among black business owners and builds better, more connected communities. now we are also committed to providing business recourses, meaningful connections, events and other tools that will help entrepreneurs within our community not only thrive but feel that they have friends within the community that are truly devoted to seeing them win. our strategy is simple. build wealth with intentional efforts to close the racial wealth gap. w
