the blake society supports and administers the annual blake prize, which was inspired by the visionary poet and artist, william blake. the blake prize was established in 1951 and is the oldest prize in australia dedicated to spirituality, religion and cultural diversity. in addition to the annual $25,000 non-acquisitive prize, the blake society also offers the john coburn emerging artist award ($5,000), the mua blake prize for human justice ($5,000), and the blake poetry prize $5,000), which is co-presented with the new south wales writers' centre. for more information visit our website at www.blakeprize.com.au
