Bloom Spokane

bloom spokane is an official chapter of birthnetwork national, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. we seek to promote and advance the practice of evidence-based maternity care and the principles of the mother-friendly childbirth initiative in our region (eastern washington & north idaho). our members include parents, physicians, midwives, childbirth educators, doulas, massage therapists, lactation consultants, chiropractors and public health professionals—each committed to these same principles and practices. we believe that all women deserve access to credible, accurate information about pregnancy and childbirth. as educated consumers, women are empowered to make informed health care decisions and choose maternity care providers who are best suited to their particular needs and wishes. we recognize birth as a normal, healthy process—not an illness or disease. women in our community should have the opportunity to birth instinctively and freely, whether they choose to give birth at home, a
