Blount County Youth Court

the blount county youth court was established on the belief that all kids deserve a second chance. contrary to popular belief juvenile records are not automatically sealed or expunged. in fact, in many cases, that is not the case and can negatively impact young persons throughout their future. these records can prevent a young person from receiving financial aid for higher education, getting a job, joining the military or being admitted into certain licensed professions. we believe everyone makes mistakes and should have the opportunity for a true clean slate. the blount county youth court provides an opportunity for first-time, non-violent offenders to expunge their record at no cost to taxpayers. the direct taxpayer cost per juvenile in traditional court is an average of $407.58. we are volunteer ran and operate on minimal costs which are graciously covered by many generous donors. in addition to saving taxpayers dollars and providing a clean slate to respondents, the blount
