blue box technology (bbt) is a canadian owned company offering a product which recycles waste heat to generate electricity. the electricity can be used on-site to conserve energy or be sold back to the grid. the system is a skid mounted module that takes advantage of existing heat flows from an industrial process. the bbt module consists of four main components: • air compressor • waste heat exchanger • turbine expander • generator the product is a compact simple system that is easily installed and interconnected. both compression and expansion take place in rotating machinery. the working fluid is air, the source of heat is a continuous waste heat stream, and the turbine drives a generator which creates electricity. waste heat can be found in several industries including: hazardous waste, petrochemical, pulp and paper, foundries, open air furnaces, chemical, cement and wood product manufacturing. the bbt module has a low capital and operating expense, with very little maintenance requ
