blue damen pictures nfp is a chicago based film production company dedicated to giving individuals who have an interest in filmmaking the opportunity to get hands on filmmaking experience. founded in 2007, blue damen pictures has produced three multiple-award winning films to date: "persephone" an experimental retelling of the greek myth of persephone using masks and puppets, "the visionary" a vignette about a gentleman sitting in an art gallery as the artwork comes alive on the walls around him, and "mattress world" which is a fable about an overworked mattress salesman trying to reconnect with his inner child. both "the visionary" and "mattress world" are part of a larger project called "the insomniac chronicles" which will be a feature length film compiled from a series of short vignette films produced individually. blue damen pictures is also producing a feature length documentary called "something sweet" examining the role of sugar in modern american culture and diet.
