Blue Mountains Insight Meditation Centre

the blue mountains insight meditation centre (est 1988) is dedicated to providing facilities for the teaching and practice of satipaṭṭhāna vipassanā (insight meditation) in the buddhist theravadan tradition, with particular reference to the teachings of the late venerable mahāsi sayādaw of burma. courses are taught by visiting teachers, including monks and nuns from burma and other countries. all students who attend a course at the centre are monitored by one or more teachers who offer appropriate guidance and support to assist students in their understanding of the meditation practice and related buddhist teachings. retreats range from weekends to a month or more in length, with comfortable single rooms and vegetarian, gluten-free food. more information on our upcoming schedule can be found on our website.
