Buehler Challenger & Science Center

the buehler challenger & science center is a not-for-profit organization developed by the family members of the challenger space shuttle 51-l crew. our mission is to inspire a long-term interest in science, technology, and math, as well as create positive educational experiences for students in fifth through eighth grades. students are able to participate in three different mission scenarios: rendezvous with comet halley, return to the moon, and voyage to mars. during these missions, students participate in scientific inquiry as well as explore age appropriate topics in physics, chemistry, and biology. in addition to our children's programs, we provide teacher training to middle school educators who come to our center to learn a six week curriculum. the culminating activity of this curriculum is a hands-on simulated mission at our challenger center where students work as teams in mission control and aboard a space station as they test their decision-making, problem solving, and communi
