Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park

situated on lake erie, the buffalo & erie county naval & military park is a non-profit museum and educational institution, and the largest inland naval park in the united states. our visitors go inside american history to see incredible displays of historic military aircraft, vehicles, equipment, artifacts, documents, uniforms, gear, photographs, and much more. the naval park's centerpiece are three retired warships first commissioned by the u.s. navy in world war ii: cruiser uss little rock, destroyer uss the sullivans (national historic landmark), and submarine uss croaker (national and state register of historic places). since opening in 1979, the naval park has long been a recognizable part of the buffalo waterfront and neighbors the popular canalside maritime and entertainment district. the naval park is open daily april through october, and on weekends during november. ranked #6 out of 138 things to do in buffalo and 2015 certificate of excellence (trip advisor)
