buffalo theatre ensemble ("bte"​) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit, professional, equity theatre company in residence at the mcaninch arts center ("mac"​) on the campus of the college of dupage in glen ellyn, illinois. established in 1986, bte’s mission reflects its dual existence as a professional company situated in a college environment. bte provides a forum in which artists, scholars, writers, students and community members explore new ideas and provocative issues through the production of high quality theater for the enjoyment of its audiences. bte is modeled after kansas city repertory theatre, formerly missouri repertory, and other professional companies located at universities. company members are a vital part of the college’s educational mission, serving as faculty and staff, creating workshops, presenting demonstrations, and participating in community outreach. bte is rooted in the idea that an acting company working together with a sense of trust and community will create bette
