founded in 1992 by stanford graduate school of business students, bfn works with students who live in the ravenswood city school district, an area that encompasses all of east palo alto and belle haven. we provide students: · intensive academic support · experiential learning · social-emotional skill development · individual tutors, as needed, and mentors our program begins at the end of a child’s third grade year, and includes: · a full-day five-week summer school. · an afterschool program that operates during the academic year. · regular field trips throughout the bay area. · family education, with presentations ranging from financial seminars to managing adolescents. · family support, including counseling, and short-term loans. our track record is exceptional · all our students stay in school; 100% of our students have graduated from high school. · most of our students have graduated from college within five years. · our students’ academic metrics are consistently above average for
