we have all been there. bought something ’cause it looked nice and was a bargain. after some use, our new purchase just fell apart. warranty void. buy new one. repeat. this is a cycle we’d like to break. we believe the things we buy should last by default. at the moment, there’s no way of telling whether the company you bought your last banana peeler from actually put any effort in making it as durable as possible, let alone offer parts and service if something indeed went wrong. most things you buy come with a warranty of one year. we feel this is supremely inadequate. things wear down and break – most of the time, the manufacturer couldn't care less and parts are unavailable, even if it was an easy fix. we’d like manufacturers to take lifetime responsibility for the products they produce. we’d like there be spare parts available. we license the use of the built to last -decal to tell potential customers that the product in question has: at least twice the typical warranty design- and
