open to all students across all courses and schools, bangor university legal advocacy society offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the worlds of legal research and mooting. what is mooting? mooting is the oral presentation of a mock appeal court case, where two competing teams of two to four students will be given a legal scenario and have to research and develop their legal submissions. two team members will then present these submissions the court, as well as counter arguments their team has developed to the opposing teams’ submissions at short notice. mooting gives students the opportunity to experience courtroom advocacy first-hand and helps students gain invaluable experience in: - public speaking - legal research - oral and written presentation skills - analytical and critical thinking - time management - teamwork and task delegation skills - creative problem solving b.u.l.a.s. hosts internal mooting competitions across a variety of practice areas in a rang
