we provide hospital-based services from four main sites - burton hospitals nhs foundation trust, burton-upon-trent - acute hospital services, including an emergency department the treatment centre, on the burton hospitals site - a dedicated centre for day case surgery and treatments. samuel johnson community hospital, lichfield - local services, including a midwife-led maternity unit and minor injuries. sir robert peel community hospital, tamworth - local services, including an endoscopy unit and a minor injuries. we provide a wide range of services to a population of around 360,000 people across south staffordshire, south derbyshire and north west leicestershire. the number of patients cared for each year in our hospitals is impressive - over 50,196 planned and emergency operations, more than 130,044 a&e; attendances and around 13,000 daycase procedures.
