By the Hand Club for Kids

by the hand is a christ-centered, after-school program that emphasizes academic excellence while nurturing the whole child—mind, body and soul. strategically located in chicago’s most under-resourced neighborhoods, by the hand is currently serving nearly 1,300 kids in critical need across the city. by the hand has after-school program locations in altgeld-murray, austin, cabrini-green and englewood. we partner with 16 chicago public schools. children are recommended by local principals and/or teachers, the majority of whom are failing in reading. in the 2015-2016 school year, 84% of our kids passed all of their classes and 45% were on the honor roll. find out more about volunteer, employment and giving opportunities at www.bythehand.org.
