Bygone Theatre

missions statement/objects the establishment and operation of a non-profit theatre organization for the purpose of: a) promoting interest in theatre in toronto that was either written or set in the 20th century and that draws inspiration from classic cinema genres, styles or motifs. b) creating a positive environment for artists of all ages and levels of experience, with a focus on building confidence and skills history bygone theatre was founded in toronto, ontario, canada in october of 2012 by emily dix and matt mcgrath. they produced their first show, john patrick shanley’s doubt: a parable in january of 2013 at the university of toronto, university college east hall. the show was a co-production with on-campus theatre group, the uc follies. in may of that year, they mounted their first retro radio hour performance, a one-night-only show consisting of vintage radio plays and oldies music. their next mainstage production was dial m for murder, written by frederick knott and performed
