by hinders is a design studio by central saint martins ba menswear alumni jonathan ingberg, inspired by the need to develop by-product wool from his family’s sheep farm in finland. having worked as a designer across both menswear and womenswear in paris and stockholm at acclaimed fashion houses, ingberg decided to branch out on his own in 2020 to focus on a unisex collection produced in collaboration with local artisans. ingberg’s design practice focuses on refined craft ethos that celebrates the daily rituals of being. his work has a strong utilitarian emphasis with subtle renewal each collection. with craftsmanship and quality at its core, by hinders aims to reflect systemic change in the fashion industry. what kind of clothes people long for in the new decade? by hinders imagines timeless design pieces with an environmentally conscious production chain.
