launched in 2012, bynd is the culmination of ten years of designing and building several social network projects at momentum design lab and our past ventures including a social shopping application and a social travel portal. applying this past experience with social applications, as well as our deep knowledge of big data, content curation, cloud computing, nosql, graph apis, solomo and geo-location, we designed and launched add to trip in 2011. add to trip was a backend as a service platform which enabled companies to provide social functionality in their apps and empower their users to collaborate with friends, family and colleagues on trip planning. based on feedback from customers, developers and investors, we continued to improve the add to trip platform by adding more and more applications to make it easy for our customers to launch quickly. in building such applications, we realized that add to trip had outgrown its original mission as a backend for companies in the travel verti
