Byas & Leon

byas & leon is the philanthropic endeavor of two haitian-american men called to action by the devastation of their ancestral homeland after the earthquake of 2010. news of international aide and increasing work lead many to believe that haiti was on its way to prosperity and rebuilding. upon further research, rony byas, jr. and harvey leon found that industrial companies and factories flocked to haiti and flourished while the minimum wage was a mere $3.75 a day. this inspired the young men to create high-quality, hand-tailored button shirts in haiti as a way to ensure that the tailors and laborers are paid a living wage to to send their children to school, provide for their family and bring real progress to their community. all of the design work and purchases are completed by byas & leon in new york city. the fabric, buttons, and tags are then shipped to a master tailor, who then measures, cuts, and forms the fabric by hand to meet the exact dimensions of each shirt. byas & leon then
