branding.coop was established in january 2016 to provide hands-on support and guidance to co-operatives wishing to promote their co-operative identity and show their pride in being part of a global movement. the business was borne out of the desire to build on experience gained within the international co-operative movement, and a passion for creating a co-operative brand to unite the world's: • 2.6m co-operative businesses • 1bn co-operative members • 250m co-operative employees nicola huckerby, the company's director gained this experience first as co-ordinator for the united nations international year of co-operatives 2012 based at the international co-operative alliance in geneva, then as director of communications for the alliance. in 2013 nicola managed the development and launch of a new visual identity for the co-operative movement, a brand that seeks to unite co-operatives in every country and in every sector. in 2014/15 she managed and promoted the .coop domain and global co-
