e-view connections was founded with the goal of improving the lives of the deaf and hard of hearing by finding ways to better connect them within their community. this goal was derived from the personal experiences of the founding members, daniel gruber, nathan hoffberg, edwin layman and lloyd roin. their desire to help led them to develop engage, a mobile application that facilitates a better use of mobile devices for the deaf and hard of hearing. by delivering asl-based video-text messages about deaf-focused events, engage now allows members of the deaf community to stay informed about happenings in their area, and alerted of any emergent situations within their geographical location.
