e3 community development corporation was founded officially in 2013, after months (and years) of preparation. "e3" stands for the three points of our mission: empower, equip, and energize. we believe that working toward these three objectives will help us to reach our vision, which is to end cyclical poverty by resourcing urban communities. robert lupton, in his book return flight, lists six needs of every community: safe streets, schools that educate, a viable economy, spiritual and ethical leadership, wholesome and recreational activities, and engaging political life. the mission of e3 community development corporation—to empower the community through sustainable ventures, to equip individuals with life skills education, and to energize leaders to serve in their homes and communities—addresses each of lupton’s community needs. a viable economy will be built through sustainable ventures, which in turn provide opportunities for wholesome and recreational activities. life skills educati
