distributed arrays of sensors deployed towards the collection of science data have proliferated in recent years. in addition to electro-optical cameras, other common sensors include infrared and acoustic sensors, deployed both locally and remotely. over time, these sensors accumulate ever larger amounts of data. for example, the noaa national centers for environmental information (ncei) dataset currently grows by hundreds of terabytes every month. sparse analysis methods on these rich datasets leave many gaps in the insights we are able to draw. there are also opportunities to apply real-time processing techniques towards producing immediate conservation interventions. the earthsense ai center is focused on connecting data collected in real-world environments to impactful insights. we are composed of computer scientists with diverse research and development backgrounds and all with a passion for unlocking technology in real-world sensing environments. the founding team members
