East Africa Law Society

we represent 7 national law societies in the east african community - law society of kenya, tanganyika law society, zanzibar law society, rwanda bar association, burundi bar association, and south sudan bar association. we stand for - rule of law, good governance, regional integration, development of the legal profession and deepening cross-border trade. through our work in the region, we have influenced changes to the @eac treaty, developed cutting edge courses for our members, and raised the rule of law profile of the region. we routinely undertake strategic advocacy and litigation in enforcement of the obligations of partner states under the treaty. through eals institute, our training academy, we have broken barriers in professional training of lawyers across the divide, with new areas such as fidic contracts, digital forensics and project finance.
